New Delhi, Oct 3: The nine-day Navratri festival brought record-breaking sales across India, with all segments of the consumer economy — from automobiles to electronics — registering their strongest festive performance in over a decade.

Government sources attribute the surge in consumer sentiment to the NextGen GST reforms, which lowered tax rates and made products more affordable, enabling families to upgrade vehicles, invest in home appliances, and spend more on lifestyle goods.
