Cracker Barrel has cut ties with the design firm behind its failed logo redesign. The company confirmed the decision in a press release issued Thursday.

"The Company also today confirmed that it is ending its engagement with Prophet, the global strategic and creative growth consultancy that advised Cracker Barrel on its previous brand refresh initiatives, including the logo and restaurant redesigns," the company wrote.

The decision comes after the national restaurant chain received significant backlash following the unveiling of a new logo in August. The redesign removed the brand’s beloved ‘Uncle Herschel’ character from the logo. Gone too was the barrel that Herschel leaned against and the slogan “Old Country Store.”
