PROSPECT HEIGHTS — POLICE ARE HUNTING A MAN WHO POSED AS A FAKE AMAZON REPRESENTATIVE to scam a 92-year-old near Grand Army Plaza in the 77th Precinct. Police received a report that, on Thursday, Sept. 18, around 10:52 a.m. near Sterling Place and Butler Place, a 92-year-old male victim was receiving multiple phone calls from multiple unidentified individuals posing as Amazon representatives who claimed that he had been compromised.

The unidentified callers instructed the victim to withdraw $10,000 for them to safeguard. The victim placed the funds in a box and later agreed to meet with an unidentified individual who collected the money from the victim and then fled by foot. There were no injuries reported in this grand larceny incident
