LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan state lawmakers passed the $81 billion state budget early Friday morning. Governor Gretchen Whitmer spoke with News 10 following its approval.
“I’m really pleased that we were able to get it done. It took longer than any of us would have wanted; it was hard negotiations,” said Governor Whitmer. “At the end of the day, we brought everyone together, found common ground where it mattered the most, and delivered a budget that is bipartisan and balanced and makes real investments in the things that are gonna make people’s lives better and helps people keep money in their pockets.”
