DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) - We’re continuing to learn more information about the arrest and background of Dr. Ian Roberts, the former superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools.
Roberts is in ICE custody, but the timeline leading up to his detention is raising more questions than answers.
Here’s what we know so far...
Des Moines Public Schools hired Ian Roberts.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, Roberts, a native of Guyana, was ordered to leave the country in 2024.
ICE arrests Roberts. DHS says officers found a gun, a knife, and $3,000 in cash in a district vehicle he was driving.
The school board places Roberts on paid administrative leave.
The Iowa Board of Educational Examiners revokes Roberts’ administrator license.
The school board places Roberts on unpaid leave
