AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Polo, philanthropy and community spirit will take center stage at the fourth annual Ponies & Pearls event.
After fundraising efforts were shifted to support communities impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, the event is back with a new goal: raising $40,000.
For polo player Anna Palacios, who has been riding since she was nine years old, the event highlights the sport and the power of teamwork.
“A lot of equestrian sports are individual competitions, and in polo, there are just so many different ways you can combine players, teams, and horses to make it more fun,” Palacios said.
