HARRISBURG, Pa. — As the days get shorter and the nights get longer, bow hunters across the state are counting down the days until archery season kicks off.
Pennsylvania’s statewide archery deer season opens Saturday, Oct. 4, and runs through Nov. 21. The season resumes from Dec. 26 through Jan. 19, 2026.
New this year is the expansion of Sunday hunting , following the passage of Act 36 of 2025, which repealed the state’s longstanding Sunday hunting ban. The Pennsylvania Game Commission authorized hunting on 13 Sundays between Sept. 14 and Dec. 7, provided those days fall within designated seasons. Seven of those Sundays are within the statewide archery season.
Sunday hunting remains limited in state parks, where it is only permitted on Nov. 16, Nov. 23, and Nov. 30. Sunday hunting fo
