On Friday, Boston Legacy FC made a splash, signing Ballon d’Or nominee Amanda Gutierres to a four-year contract.

The 24-year-old Brazilian already has eight years of professional experience in both Brazil and in the French first division.

For the last three seasons, Gutierres has played for Palmeiras where she’s been one of the best goal scorers in Brazil’s Série A1. In both the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Gutierres tallied 13 goals.

This past year, her 15 goals with Palmeiras earned her international recognition as she finished 21st in the Ballon d’Or race.
