TRAVERSE CITY — Team Elmer’s, in coordination with the City of Traverse City Water/Wastewater Maintenance Division, is continuing the 2025 replacement of private galvanized water lines that were once hooked to lead.

The project, which began in May, is scheduled to be completed in the fall. During the week of Oct. 6, work will take place on the 200 block of East Ninth Street, the 800 block of Cass Street, and the 100 block of East Twelfth Street.

The construction will cause lane shifts and sidewalk closures. Dust, noise, and disruptions to pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle traffic are expected, with intermittent street and sidewalk closures. Officials said signage will be in place and access to homes and businesses will be maintained, though residents are encouraged to use alternate routes
