The surging Central Catholic Vikings (5-1) travel to face the Shaler Area Titans (1-5) in a midseason nonleague contest on Friday night.

The Vikings enter on a five-game winning streak, most recently dispatching North Allegheny 21-6 behind a potent ground attack led by juniors Roman Thompson and Jayden Alexander, who combined for three rushing touchdowns in the win.

Shaler Area continues to search for answers after falling to Penn Hills 36-7 last week, despite the efforts of senior receiving threats Troy Cignetti and Jonathan Saban.

Central Catholic dominated last year’s meeting, 56-7, on its home turf.

Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on Friday, October 3 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network .
