KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Eleven people, including three students and known Knoxville business owner Yassin Terou, were arrested back in May of 2024 during a Nakba Day Vigil at the University of Tennessee, according to the University of Tennessee Police Department.
UTPD officials said the individuals were charged with criminal tresspass when they were arrested during the event on the UT Law School lawn.

Sean McDermott with the Knox County District Attorney’s Office said that the charges against all 11 people were dismissed upon the collective completion of a total of 100 hours of community service by the group.
