Gov. Wes Moore could be seen on TV recently at 9 a.m., then again at 10 a.m. and once again that evening. Each time he rants about how the federal government shutdown is the fault of President Donald Trump ( “Trump no longer distancing himself from Project 2025 as he uses shutdown to further pursue its goals,” Oct. 3).

Legislation to temporarily fund the federal government has been submitted and passed by the U.S. House of Representatives. It was submitted to the U.S. Senate but fell five votes short of the 60 needed to pass. Only with the Senate passage does the measure go to Trump for his approval. Seems to me that Governor Moore needs a course in constitutional law as well as in financial literacy.
