CF Monterrey defeated the Vancouver Rise FC Academy on Thursday (Oct. 2) in group action at the Concacaf Women's Champions Cup.
CF Monterrey defeated the Rise FC Academy 4-nil at Estadio BBVA in Guadalupe, Monterrey, Mexico, in its group stage.
Emily Gielnik scored the first goal of the match for CF Monterrey in the 20th minute and five minutes later scored the second goal. Nicole Pérez scored the third goal for CF Monterrey in the 38th minute, and Katty Martínez scored just before the halftime whistle at 45+1.
CF Monterrey held possession of the ball for 78.3 per cent of the match and took 16 shots, six of which were on goal. The Rise FC Academy took nine shots, two of which were on target.
Gotham FC is in first place in Group B with 10 points, followed by the Washington Spirit
