WYLIE, Texas — Wylie police arrested a 55-year-old man Thursday evening and charged him with continuous sexual abuse of a child, officials say.

According to police, the arrest stems from an investigation that began Oct. 1.

The investigation began after police received information of a child making an outcry to her mother, police said. The mother told police about it, and after investigating and conducting interviews, police obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect, Arthur Bass.

Bass was taken to the City of Wylie Jail without incident.

The case is still under investigation.
