BEREA, Ky. (WKYT) - A student has been charged with terroristic threatening in connection with a threat that prompted lockdowns at three Madison County schools .
The Berea Police Department received reports of a threat concerning Madison Southern High School at approximately 11:40 a.m. on Sept. 11. In response, Madison Southern High School, Foley Middle School and Shannon Johnson Elementary School were immediately placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.
Multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies responded to Madison Southern High School under the belief that an active shooter situation was in progress. Through a coordinated effort with Madison County Schools staff, agencies investigated the threat and determined there was no active threat to student safety.
