The family of 'a hero' of the Crumpsall synagogue attack who paid with his life have paid tribute to him. Adrian Daulby bravely helped to barricade the doors of the building to stop the attacker from entering.

But Mr Daulby, 53, was accidentally shot by police as they tried to prevent Jihad Al-Shamie, who was armed with a knife, from getting into the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue on Middleton Road.

It is not yet known if the bullet which hit Mr Daulby was the sole cause of his death. He was behind the door of the entrance and suffered a gunshot wound along with Yoni Finlay who was near him, and hit in the stomach but is recovering. View 4 Images
