The Gophers football program picked up a commitment from Wisconsin tight end George Rohl on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-6, 230-pound prospect from Ellsworth flipped his commitment from North Dakota to Minnesota to be the 23rd pledge in the U’s 2026 recruiting class.
The three-star prospect traveled 50 miles northwest from his home to Minneapolis for the Gophers’ 31-28 win over Rutgers on Saturday.
Rohl had attended a Wisconsin Badgers camp and visited Camp Randall Stadium for at least one game in 2024, but he did not receive a reported offer from his in-state school.
“I’ve grown up a Wisconsin fan,” Rohl told 247Sports last December. “It was really cool getting to go there. I really do like them.”
