FLINT -- Owosso girls swim and dive head coach Mallory Irelan doesn’t know how to describe it, but all she knows is senior Lillian Pumford enters a different mode when she has a certain look.

Irelan, a 2018 Owosso High School graduate, initially noticed it from a different Pumford when she was teammates with Lillian’s older sister, Allie Pumford.
