TEMPLE, Texas — West Nile Virus has been detected in a mosquito trap in Temple, the Bell County Public Health District (BCPHD) has announced.

According to BCPHD, a trap collected in South Temple tested positive for the virus, marking the first positive trap of the season in Bell County.

The test is reportedly part of the Public Health District's Vector program. BCPHD said the positive test was indicated in lab results received from the Texas Department of State Health Services lab in Austin on Oct. 3.
