Clients of 15 service organizations across eastern Allegheny County will receive unlimited free bus rides through the end of the year thanks to an annual nonprofit community transit program.

Braddock-based Heritage Community Transportation (HCT) announced this week that it is sending out just under 2,500 courtesy rider cards for its fleet of four 14-seat buses, which covers 16 communities, including McKeesport, Monroeville and Swissvale.

Among the recipients distributing cards to their clients are the Allegheny Housing Authority, Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania and the Mon Valley Initiative, which provides housing counseling and workforce development programs.
