CINCINNATI (WXIX) - An 83-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed several times with a screwdriver as he walked his dog in Mt. Auburn, according to police and court records.
The victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries from what police and prosecutors say was a random attack on Dorsey Street the morning of Sept. 19.
FOX19 NOW spoke with him on Friday. He declined to go on camera but said he is home recovering after a few days in the hospital.
He said he is feeling better, and his small dog was not hurt.
The suspect is identified in court records as Jayvaughn Matthews, 25.
He appeared in court Friday following his indictment on charges of felonious assault, harassment with a bodily substance and obstructing official business.
