That’s the way Butte-Silver Bow will respond to a “Request for Information” the Montana Department of Corrections sent in its quest to build a new $220 million women’s prison somewhere in Montana.

The county will fill out the RFI forms with simple data, commissioners and Chief Executive J.P. Gallagher decided Wednesday night, but they don’t want the DOC to get any wrong ideas.

Most are still wary of the agency’s intentions, saying public sentiment is strongly against a new prison, and they say the DOC has had virtually no communications with local officials since it pitched Butte as a possible prison location in March.
