GALENA, Ill. (WMBD) -- The Illinois Department of Transportation recognized six airports during the Illinois Public Airports Association fall conference in Galena this week.
The winners were selected based on their accomplishments and commitment to customer satisfaction and safety, an IDOT news release said.
In central Illinois, the Rinkenberger Airport in Bradford was recognized as Airport of the Year, according to the release.
Some of the other winners include Rockford International, which was recognized as Primary Airport of the Year and Quad City Med Force, which was recognized as the Heliport of the Year.
