GALESBURG, Ill. (KWQC) - 3 railroad street crossings in Galesburg are set to temporarily close for surface repairs.

The following crossings will be closed:

Broad Street crossing

Closed from 10 p.m. Sunday through 5 p.m. Oct. 8

Whitesboro Street crossing

Closed from 10 p.m. Sunday through 5 p.m. Oct. 8

North Academy Street crossing

Closed from 6 a.m. Oct. 7 through 5 p.m. Oct. 9.

The city said the temporary closures are necessary to complete rail crossing improvements.

Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are encouraged to find alternate routes while work is being done, the city said.
