STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A suspect in the 2020 homicide of 38-year-old Shernetta Dunmore was found guilty during his trial that began on Sept. 25.

Stamford police responded to a parking lot in the area of Dale Street and Ursula Place in September 2020 for reports of shots fired, where Dunmore was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.

A 43-year-old Stamford man also suffered multiple gunshot wounds but was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

Ian Evans, 33, was arrested in March 2021 as a suspect in the investigation and taken into custody.

Evans was found guilty during trial on the following charges: • First-degree manslaughter with a firearm • First-degree assault • Criminal use of a weap
