LAUREL, Miss. (WDAM) - A Bay Springs man was charged with his fourth felony driving under the influence Sunday.
Darin Hubbard, 56, was arrested in Laurel after a traffic stop on 16th Avenue.
“Mr. Hubbard told him his drivers license had been suspended for prior DUIs in the past,” Jones County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Patrick Oster said. “(JCSD) Deputy (Kalob) Broadway asked him if he had had anything to drink this day, and he did.”
Oster shared that the deputy also found several unrestrained children in Hubbard’s vehicle.
“He could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and on his person,” said Oster.
Hubbard was given a portable breath test on-scene and failed.
According to Oster, Hubbard later refused a retest at the jail.
