HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - More details were given in a courtroom on Friday about what led to the arrest of a Hattiesburg man for planting a cellphone to record in a public restroom.

Jodavion Bryshon Barnes, 23, is charged with one count of photographing/filming of another without permission, a felony.

On Sept. 26, Hattiesburg Police Department officers responded to a call at the Walmart on U.S. 49 about an employee who had found a cellphone in the vent above a toilet in a family restroom.

That employee went and got another employee, and both said they saw a red light in the vent.

Upon arrival, officers retrieved the phone.

According to testimony given in Friday’s preliminary hearing, Barnes, an employee at the store, asked for his phone back when he saw management with it.
