Niagara Military Museum is hosting a book sale in support of an effort to keep the historic armoury open.

The sale will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The City of Niagara Falls has asked the museum board to develop a business plan including ideas for revenues to cover operating expenses as the provincial government has called on municipalities to examine non-core assets to determine long-term viability.

The Victoria Avenue museum launched an online petition this summer, calling on residents to help protect the historical landmark.

Visitors on Saturday are invited to sign the petition, either electronically or in a book, and also browse a large selection of military books.

Books are $5 each for hard cover, with paperbacks $2 and $1 for pocket books.
