On Wednesday morning, the Edmonton Downtown Business Association hosted a mayoral debate at the Citadel Theatre. Organizers expected about 300 attendees. When the debate began, there were about 90 people in the audience, fewer than the number of people who went to city hall in June to make their voices heard in a public hearing over potential changes to infill regulations.
Last weekend, a rally was held in north Edmonton where neighbourhood leaders were supposed to gather to show their displeasure over infill, bike lanes and what they felt was a lack of communication between city council and residents.
