ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The Hope Center in Roanoke is gearing up for its annual Dinner Under the Stars fundraiser.

Proceeds go directly to the Christmas for Kids program.

We spoke with the organizer and a volunteer about the importance of giving back.

“The more we give, the more it comes back, and then the more people we can continue to help in the community,” said The Hope Center Executive Director, Darlene Lewis.

Lewis said this year will be the fourth Dinner Under the Stars Fundraiser.

Last year, the nonprofit was able to raise $6,000 and that money went directly into the Center’s Christmas for Kids program, benefiting 260 children.
