CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - A man was arrested in connection to his wife’s murder Friday, October 3, according to the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.

The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at 1:36 p.m. at 98 Riverview Lane in Concord. Deputies say they found a deceased woman, identified as 51-year-old Shannon Davis Martin.

The woman’s husband, 54-year-old Kenneth Blaine Martin, was charged with first degree murder. He is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.

“This is a deeply tragic case, ” said Major L.T. Guthrie of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office. “We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones during this most difficult time.”

The Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the case.
