The historic Mercantile Building, home to Mercantile Place on Main residences, was closed for a second day after a water pipe burst on the 20th floor on Thursday.
Residents of Mercantile Place on Main spent most of Friday looking for information on when power might be restored to the 31-story tower.
Maurio Goodman, who lives on the fourth floor, said he wasn’t waiting too long.
“I’m looking at other places as we speak, like going and touring something today,” Goodman said.
Dallas Fire-Rescue units were called out Thursday afternoon to 1800 Main St. for a ruptured water line on the 20th floor of the historic building.
The rupture led to water entering the electrical room on the 11th floor, causing smoke damage and loss of electricity in the building, according to DFR.
