On Friday, Notre Dame West Haven’s Alumni Hall was packed ahead of a highly anticipated announcement.

Abdou Toure, the state’s number one high school basketball player, announced he will be attending the University of Arkansas where he will continue his basketball career.

"It came down to what my heart felt, my gut, just woke up this morning and I was like, 'I have to go to Arkansas.' I put this shirt on, it felt good so I was like, 'yeah we're going to Arkansas today,'” Toure said.

The high school senior was offered dozens of scholarships to Division 1 colleges including the University of Connecticut.
