TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —The latest round of treatment to remove the quagga mussel from the Snake River is underway. It’s the third year that the Idaho State Department of Agriculture has detected the invasive species in the water.

“And so as we’re going through this, with the mindset of eradication, we have to get every last one,” said Jeremey Varley, Chief Engineer with ISDA.

That’s the same goal the Idaho State Department of Agriculture had for last year’s treatment to remove the quagga mussels from the Snake River.

However, recent testing showed that the treatment only removed the quagga from about half of the impacted area, which stretched from Centennial Park to the Twin Falls Dam.
