PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Generational stories and sacrifices are the backbone of a Phoenix brewery. What began as an idea between two friends a decade ago has come to fruition at Sana Sana Cerveceria in downtown Phoenix.
Daniel Castro is one-half of the business. His childhood friend, Johnny De Luna, is the other. For Castro, his love for hops began in college when his friend tempted his taste buds.
“He slid over a beer. It was a Christmas beer you know to me, and I was like what is this, he said it was a Christmas beer, and I tasted it and I was like wow a beer can taste like that. That’s crazy,” Castro said.
From there, it was off to brewery school along the East Coast.
He shared that passion with De Luna ten years ago.
