SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A charity golf tournament was held on Friday at Schenectady Municipal Golf Course to honor John Grassia III, who was killed in a helicopter crash in March 2024 in Texas.

Grassia, of Rotterdam, and Casey Frankoski, of Rensselaer, died while serving as New York National Guard members on the southern border.

The event was organized by the John M. Grassia Foundation. It brought together family, friends and community members to remember his sacrifice and raise funds for military and law enforcement families in need.
