TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The University of Arizona entrepreneurship program is helping students start businesses and showing them that they don’t have to leave Tucson to find success.
“Brain Drain,” where college graduates leave the state once they finish their degree, is a problem across the country.
That’s why McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship Executive Director Bob Griffin said it’s one of his goals to help students grow their business ideas locally.
“Develop something here, stay here, grow the economy here,” said Griffin, in between sessions where he mentored students on their startup projects. “Southern Arizona’s economy depends on innovation, and we are teaching kids to be innovative.”
