HOUSTON – The Texans are promoting massive offensive tackle Trent Brown from the practice squad to the active roster, per agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Brown’s promotion was expected when Cam Robinson was traded to the Cleveland Browns

Brown, 31, is listed at 6-foot-8, 380 pounds and is one of the biggest offensive linemen in the NFL.

He started eight of 11 games two seasons ago for the New England Patriots. Brown overlapped in New England when offensive coordinator Nick Caley and offensive line coach Cole Popovich were on coach Bill Belichick’s Super Bowl winning staffs along with Texans general manager Nick Caserio.

Brown signed a one-year, $3 million contract in the offseason.

Brown tore his patellar tendon in the third game last season and has made a sound recovery.
