RENTON, Wash. — A suspect remains on the loose Friday evening after allegedly shooting a woman in the neck outside of a Renton ATM, police say.

Just after 6:30 p.m., the suspect, a man in his 20s wearing red clothing, attempted to steal a purse belonging to a 57-year-old woman while she was using an ATM on the 300 block of Burnett Avenue South, according to the Renton Police Department.

Police said just after 9 p.m. that the man fled the scene and was not in custody.

The victim was transported to a regional hospital in an unknown condition after medics treated her on the scene.

Police are actively investigating.
