SEATTLE — Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell went on the attack Friday evening, implying that he is more qualified than his opponent, Katie Wilson, to seize the current political moment. "This is when we need a fighter. We need a change agent," he said Friday.
Harrell fell behind challenger Katie Wilson in the August primary for Seattle mayor, pulling only 42.2% of the vote to Wilson’s 50.8%. The two squared off Friday evening in a debate hosted by KING 5 in partnership with The Seattle Times.
Harrell, the incumbent Seattle mayor, was elected in November 2021. Since then, his office has focused on issues like public safety, affordable housing and local business and worker impacts. This campaign, Harrell is focused on affordable housing, community safety and reliable transportation and infrastru
