COVINGTON, Ky. (WXIX) - A Dayton-based animal rescue criticized Kenton County Animal Services over the agency’s response to a situation involving a pair of malnourished dogs.

Blake Jordan of Miami Valley Pit Rescue told FOX 19 on Friday that one of the dogs died of starvation, and he said he believes that the shelter could have done more to help the animal.

He said that on Sept. 26, he was contacted by Kenton County Animal Services. He said his organization was supposed to get the pair of dogs into foster care after Kenton County Animal Control Officers found they were living in unacceptable conditions.

He said only one dog arrived, and it had been transported by its owner instead of a representative from Animal Services.
