INDIANAPOLIS — It was an all-Carmel show on Friday night as the fourth-ranked Greyhounds shut down the Ben Davis Giants with a statement 43-0 win.
Carmel took control early when senior quarterback Anthony Coellner took off and scored a 35-yard rushing touchdown on the Greyhounds' first possession of the night.
After holding the Ben Davis offense to a punt, Carmel came back out on offense with Coellner again using his legs to march the Greyhounds down the field, deep into Giants territory. However, the Ben Davis defense stopped Carmel at the two-yard line on fourth down in what appeared to be a big momentum shift.
However, Carmel kept the momentum swinging in their direction when the Greyhounds' defense came up big by forcing a safety to take a 9-0 lead following the first quarter.
