MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. -- The Wisconsin men's hockey team started their season out on the right foot Friday night, taking down Lindenwood on the road 3-0 in the season opener.
Three different Badgers found the net in the win, with the first goal coming halfway into the opening period. Working on the powerplay, Logan Hensler and Oliver Tulk moved the puck in front of the crease. Christian Fitzgerald then pounced on a rebound to kick off his senior season with a goal.
Grady Deering scored the Badgers' second goal during a 4-on-4 in the second period. Working from the left, he cut across the crease and used his stick skills to beat two Lions and netminder Klayton Knapp. It was his first NCAA goal.
