PHOENIX — When a family of five had nowhere to go in the Arizona heat, angels stepped in.

Those angels work for the Phoenix Police Department. Angels on Patrol is a nonprofit that provides officer-initiated support to those in crisis. So when an officer was called to a welfare check and found the family without shelter, he immediately stepped in.

A video posted by the department showed the interaction officers had with the family.

"Despite a parent working and searching for housing, an eviction left the family out of time and forced into homelessness," the post said.

The mother said in the video that she had never experienced homelessness.

"Don't worry, we'll get you somewhere tonight just for your kiddos," the officer said.
