LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - This week, the Lansing Police Department has been cracking down on people who have outstanding warrants.
“There’s people that we can’t let fall through the cracks who don’t turn themselves in and are just out there with these existing warrants,” said Lansing Police Chief Robert Backus.
Throughout the day, law enforcement officials are separated into teams.
“We have the Michigan State Police, The U.S. Marshalls, Ingham County, Lansing Township and Lansing Police Department all cooperating together,” said Backus.
The groups skim through a list of people with outstanding warrants out for their arrest. When they find one, they work to take that person into custody.
“This is a simple way that we can make sure that they get it taken care of,” said Patrol Officer Have
