LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The man charged with kidnapping and stabbing a Louisville mother and robbing a bank with her two kids in the car will have to go for a mental evaluation before his next court date.

Armond Langford is accused of breaking into a family’s home back in August before forcing a mother and her kids into a car at knifepoint.

Police say he drove them to the PNC Bank on Shelbyville Road, stabbed the mother, and then robbed the bank. He was later arrested and is facing multiple charges, including robbery, assault, and kidnapping.

Langford was back in court Friday morning, where Judge Susan Schultz Gibson ordered state officials to conduct a psychiatric evaluation on him.

Court documents show the evaluation in Langford’s new case should be done before his next court date
