LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - LMPD has recently taken to social media about multiple drug busts throughout the metro. While officers say busts of this size happen a few times a month, working to keep illegal drugs out of the community is a daily endeavor.

Almost eight ounces of heroin, a pound of fentanyl, and over five ounces of high-purity cocaine, that’s just a few of the seizures LMPD officers have made in the past week.

“Our officers and detectives are out there proactively working, aggressively, to quell this evil of narcotics trafficking and violence in our city,” said LMPD spokesperson John Bradley.

Bradley said keeping drugs off of Jefferson County’s streets goes hand in hand with reducing violence, as most of these drug busts also involve the seizure of firearms.
