On a night of mostly lopsided scores in the 5A/4A, Bishop Manogue and Douglas provided the fireworks in high school football on Friday night.

The Miners held on to edge the Tigers 48-46, thanks to a fourth down stop with a minute remaining.

Elsewhere in high school football on Friday, Reed overcame a slow start, and myriad penalties to down Galean, 50-13; Spanish Springs blew past Damonte Ranch, 49-6; Reno rolled over Wooster, 56-0; Carson basted Hug, 49-6 and McQueen blew out North Valleys, 51-6.

In the 3A, Truckee snuck past Elko, 20-14, thanks to a late interception by the Wolverines, to hand the Indians their first loss of the season. Fallon shut out Dayton, 53-0 and Spring Creek blanked Lowry, 42-0.
