Claire's is set to close 145 branches across the UK, with two in Cambridgeshire set to close its doors. Closing down sales start this weekend at the affected stores.
Two stores that have been announced as closing are in Cambridge's Grand Arcade and Huntingdon's Chequers shopping centre. Claire's UK entered administration on August 13 , shortly after its US counterpart filed for bankruptcy on August 7.
The US business has since secured a buyer for 950 stores. Modella Capital's deal, struck with Claire's US parent company Ames Watson, covers 156 UK stores, though some closures and job losses are expected as negotiations with landlords continue, reports Birmingham Live ..
