World No. 1 Test all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scored an unbeaten century (104*) on Friday and picked up 4 wickets for 54 runs in 13 overs on Saturday (October 4) to help India secure a dominating win by an innings and 140 runs over the West Indies in the first Test played at Narendra Modi Stadium. For his super all-round show, the 36-year-old cricketer from Jamnagar bagged the Player of the Match award.
The POTM award won by Jadeja in the first India-West Indies Test is his 11th such award in 86 Tests played so far. He has now won more POTM awards in Tests R Ashwin, Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble’s (10 POTM awards each).
Now only Sachin Tendulkar (14) has won more POTM awards for India in Tests than Jadeja.
